  If I viewed government as being my parents, I would probably be a Democrat. However, I view government as a minimal necessity. Ergo, I am philosophically a libertarian who happens to vote Republican.

  Let me clarify with a few bullet points:

  . If women wants to kill their unborn children, it's fine with me.
  Just put more effort into taking care of the ones born. Abortion
  has no place in political debate after almost 30 years of being
  a legal option.

  . If drug addicts want to kill themselves with drugs, go right
  ahead, be my guest. But if you rob or harm someone else to
  get your drugs, you should be locked up for a long time.

  . The government can spend my tax dollars to help the needy. But
  don't allow people to run a game and become dependent on welfare.
  Squirt out more babies than you can afford and you should get less
  welfare, not more.

  I am warm and cuddly aren't I?

  This discussion reminds me a little bit about the debate some of my JW bethel buds would have as to whether sex with a condom was truely fornication, since vaginal tissue was not contacted and fluids were not exchanged. I was willing to accept the notion that it wasn't fornication. Sometimes it helps to have a Levitical scholar with one while dating.

  I don't live in Africa. I live in the United States in the year 2001. I don't care, in the context of the attack of September 11th about any acts tribal warfare and civil wars that happened half way around the world at another time.

  Life isn't fair. All wrongs can't be atoned for at all times. You want perfect justice and it doesn't exist. Your insinuation that I only care about terrorism committed against white people is a cheap shot and perhaps you can confirm that all of the people killed at the WTC and Pentagon were white. I hadn't given it a thought, but obviously you have.

  I'm not wasting my time reading pacifistic, nonsense. Make a point so we can respond to it. When 6,000 to 7,000 innocent people are killed for politico-religious reasons, then the shear degree of terrorism has little if any equal. So TERRORISM does not equal just plain vanilla TERRORISM in this instance.

  at times, a point of crisis-such as intervention of the police-can cause an abusive man to see the seriousness of the action.. page 12: should the battered wife leave her husband?

  Here's some sound advice for women of any religion or cult:

  If your fiance, boyfriend or husband punches you, burns you with cigarettes, pulls hair out of your scalp during arguments or in any other way causes you physical pain and anguish. . . LEAVE HIS SORRY ASS. You cannot change him. You can only save yourself and your children if you have any. Don't listen to any pleas by your parents, clergy, congregation elders or best friends, to give him another chance.

  Having just posted this, I know that too many women will not heed this advice.

  It's been 16 days now, since the terrorist attacks in NY and DC. Let's compare that to the reaction of his predecessor, who launched missle attacks against the people on Yugoslavia and Iraq for weeks and launched missle attacks against targets in Afghanistan, coincidental to information about a certain blue dress being made public. I like Bush's measured response to this much better than you know who's.

  I'm not certain that I've met anyone who thinks the United States can do no wrong. I just reject the notion that any wrongs done by the United States have anything of any relevance to do with the terrorist attacks in New York or D.C.

  Is there cause for alarm if a woman is beaten by her husband? Well, consider this true story circa 1965:

  A witness woman in Colorado complained to the then "congregation overseer" and his assistant that she was being regularly beaten by her husband. Would it be okay to leave him? The counsel provided was that she continue to live with him and by setting the proper example of field service and meeting attendance, and of course wifely recognition of his headship, win him over.

  The result was that her relatives, after days of not having any contact with her, found her eviscerated body in plastic bags in her freezer. Her husband was subsequently arrested and sentenced to prison. As far as I know, he never did become an active publisher.

  have made their point and will now leave us alone.

  3. The United States should immediately denounce Israel as an
  outlaw state, cut off all foreign aid and diplomatic relations
  with them.

  4. Americans should cover themselves with ashes and sackcloth, and
  admit that our wealth and prosperity make us the scourge of the
  planet. We should immediately issue a worldwide public mea culpa.

  5. The federal government should immediately issue all citizens
  T-shirts with the words "KICK ME" printed on the back.

  6. We need to get back to the weighty matters of this country like
  HMO reform, campaign finance reform, reparatiions for the black
  descendants of slaves in 1865 and Gary Condits extramarital
  affairs with flight attendants (talk about terrorism in the sky!).
